Requirements for authors of the journal “Legal Ukraine”

The journal “Legal Ukraine” is a Ukrainian professional scientific publication in the field of legal sciences. The publication was founded in 2003. In 2013, the journal was re-registered in connection with joining the founding members of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.

The journal publishes the results of original scientific research in legal sciences, as well as interdisciplinary research related to law (political science, sociology, public administration, economics, philosophy, history, pedagogy, psychology, journalism, etc.).

  1. General requirements for articles

Original, previously unpublished scientific articles that are not under consideration in other publications are accepted for consideration.

The article must meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for scientific professional publications and contain the following mandatory structural elements:

  • statement of the problem;
  • analysis of recent research and publications;
  • formulation of the purpose (task) of the research;
  • presentation of the main material;
  • research results;
  • conclusions and prospects for further research;
  • list of sources used;
  • References (in Latin).

Scientific results must be substantiated, logically presented and correspond to the stated purpose of the research.

  1. Language and technical requirements

Articles are submitted in Ukrainian or English.

Technical design parameters:

  • font – Times New Roman, 14 pt;
  • line spacing – 1.5;
  • margins – 2–2.5 cm;
  • paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm;
  • volume – approximately 8–20 pages (depending on the type of material).
  1. Annotations and metadata

At the beginning of the article, the following are indicated:

  • UDC index;
  • surname, name of the author(s);
  • ORCID (if available);
  • academic degree, academic title;
  • place of work, position;
  • e-mail address.

After the title of the article, the following are submitted:

 

Annotations:

  • in Ukrainian – 1800–2500 characters;
  • in English – 1800–2500 characters.

The annotation must contain:

  • relevance of the topic;
  • goal;
  • methodology;
  • results;
  • scientific novelty;
  • practical significance (if available).

Keywords (5–10 words) in the appropriate language are added to each annotation.

  1. Formatting references

References in the text are given in square brackets with the source and page number (if necessary).

The list of sources used is drawn up in accordance with the current DSTU 8302:2015.

The list of References is necessarily submitted in Latin (with transliteration of Ukrainian sources or their official translation).

  1. Ethical requirements

The author is personally responsible for:

  • compliance with the norms of academic integrity;
  • absence of plagiarism;
  • reliability of facts, quotes and references;
  • compliance with intellectual property legislation;
  • correctness of translations.

Articles undergo mandatory double “blind” review.

  1. Submission of materials

Materials are submitted electronically to the editorial office’s email address.

The following are attached to the article:

  1. Information about the author (in a separate file):

o Full name;

o Academic degree, title;

o Place of work, position;

o ORCID;

o Contact details.

  1. Declaration of the originality of the article.
  2. Review (if necessary – for postgraduate students and applicants).

Submission of the article means the author’s consent to its placement on the official website of the publishing house Yurinkom Press and in the electronic funds of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.

The editorial office reserves the right to literary and technical editing of materials.
