PUBLICATION ETHICS POLICY (COPE)

Publication Ethics and Editorial Policy
The Journal “Legal Ukraine” adheres to the principles of publication ethics defined by
international organizations, in particular:

Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)

San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA)

1. Authors’ Responsibilities
The authors guarantee that:

  • the submitted materials are original;
  • the article has not been published before;
  • there is no plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or data fabrication;
  • all co-authors have made a significant contribution;
  • the sources are properly cited.

2. Editorial Responsibilities
The Editorial Board:

  • ensures an impartial review of materials;
  • makes decisions solely on the basis of scientific value;
  • observes confidentiality;
  • does not allow conflicts of interest.

3. Review
The journal uses double-blind peer review.
Reviewers:

  • assess scientific quality;
  • observe confidentiality;
  • report conflicts of interest.

4. Ethical violations
Violations include:

  • plagiarism;
  • fabrication or falsification of data;
  • duplication of publications;
  • citation manipulation.

If violations are detected, the editorial board may:

  • reject the article;
  • withdraw the publication;
  • notify the author’s institution.

5. Article withdrawal
An article may be withdrawn in the event of:

  • significant errors;
  • ethical violations;
  • unreliable data.

6. Complaints and appeals
The editorial board considers all complaints regarding:

  • quality of review;
  • ethical violations.
